ENROLMENT INFORMATION:
A. Enrolling as a Student (Student Visa Requests)

1. Complete and return this Application Form

2. You will then receive:

  • An Offer of Place (including fee charges)
  • Terms & Conditions for Study

3. You should then:

  • Pay all fees listed on the Offer of Place
  • Return the signed Terms & Conditions for Study form

4. Wide Bay TAFE will then send you a Confirmation of Enrolment that you can take to an Australian Embassy or Consulate for your visa.

B. Enrolling on a non-student visa (visitor, working holiday, etc.)

1. Complete and return this Application Form

2. You will then receive:

  • An Offer of Place (including fee charges)
  • Terms & Conditions for Study

3. You should then:

  • Pay all fees listed on the Offer of Place
  • Return the signed Terms & Conditions for Study form
Refund and Transfer Information

Please read the following information carefully:
**Please note – TAFE courses, subjects (modules) and timetables may be altered or deleted without notice.

REFUND and CANCELLATION POLICY:
VISA

(A) If your initial application for a visa is rejected, we will refund your tuition fees less an administration charge of $500 after the Wide Bay Institute of TAFE has received your letter of visa rejection.

(B) The terms of this policy, with regard to withdrawal from study, also apply if:

(i) You are granted Permanent Resident status during your English Language or Formal course

(ii) If the Institute excludes you from continuing your English Language or Formal studies

(iii) Your application for a visa extension is rejected or your existing visa is cancelled by the Department of Immigration and Ethnic Affairs.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSE

(A) If you withdraw from your English Language course for any reason, excluding initial visa rejection:

a) more than 28 days before the course begins, we will refund your tuition fees less an Administration Charge of 20% of tuition fees paid for this English Language offer.

b) less than 28 days before the course begins, we will refund your tuition fees less a cancellation fee of up to a maximum of the published 12 weeks tuition fees.

c) after the course begins, we will not refund any tuition fees paid for this English Language offer.

(B) If you successfully meet the English Language entry requirements and all other conditions for entry to a TAFE Queensland formal course during your English Language course, you may apply to credit the balance of paid English Language tuition fees to your formal TAFE course. Such credit transfer may be no less than 6 English Language weeks, is not transferable to another student and will not be refunded directly to you under any circumstances.

(C) If you defer your English Language course prior to commencement, we may hold your tuition fees until you can commence. If you defer your English Language course after commencement, funds may be held in non-refundable credit in blocks of 6 weeks only. You cannot resume your course until a new Offer of Place has been issued. If you withdraw from this course, tuition fees will not be refunded.

FORMAL COURSE

(A) If you withdraw from your formal course for any reason, excluding initial visa rejection:

a) more than 28 days before the course begins, we will refund the first semester of your tuition fees, less an Administration Charge of 10% of this instalment.

b) less than 28 days before the course begins, we will refund the first semester of your tuition fees, less an Administration Charge of 20% of this instalment.

c) after the course begins, we will not refund the semester’s tuition fees.

CONDITIONAL OFFERS

It is your responsibility to provide the Wide Bay Institute of TAFE (WBIT) with evidence that you have satisfied the conditions of entry to your course as stated in the Letter of Offer, before that course begins. Penalties may apply if you fail to satisfy these conditions of entry or if you fail to advise Wide Bay Institute of TAFE and subsequently have to withdraw from your conditional offer.

TRANSFERS AND DEFERMENTS

If you wish to transfer to another Institute in TAFE Queensland or to an educational institution outside TAFE Queensland, or if you wish to defer your studies, an administration charge of up to 20% of one semester’s fees will apply, depending on the circumstances.

PAYMENT OF REFUNDS

(A) All requests for refunds or credit transfers are subject to the approval of the Director WBIT.

(B) All requests for refund of any monies must be made in person and/or in writing to WBIT.

(B) Approved refunds may be transferred to another institution or sent to your home country as requested. Money will not be refunded in Australia.
